Cost Accounting Manager

Job Purpose

Managing cost control activities ensuring alignment with policies and procedures.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of Business Finance Division plan and develop operational plan of the Cost Accounting Function according to set objectives.
• Develop Cost Accounting Function key performance indicators and continuously monitor progress towards operational plan.
• Implement Cost Accounting Function’s framework, methodologies, techniques and principles.
• Ensure that Cost Accounting Function operational plan is well communicated and understood at all levels.
• Optimize resources and ensure team is efficient and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Develop budget requirements for Cost Accounting Function ensuring alignment to plans and needs.
• Develop procedures ensuring all actions are conducted in a systematic manner.
• Take operational decisions and escalate key decisions to senior management when required.

• Develop a tailored costing methodology to provide cost insights.
• Apply a cost justification framework to support decisions about complex costs.
• Provide insights for price setting parameter.
• Provide costing principles for departments based on previous experience and benchmarks.
• Assess the spending risks/ opportunities of the budget for decision-making.
• Ensure that the process of reconciliation is operating smoothly in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely processing of payments (payroll, supplier payments, etc.)
• Ensure compliance of fixed assets accounting to policies and procedures
• Provide advice and solutions to achieve most efficient cost cutting solutions.
• Build and maintain solid relations with external stakeholders such as governmental entities and consultants to serve WTCO ’s best interest.
• Approve reports and presentations related to Department activities and achievements for reporting and decision-making.
