Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for managing the organization’s Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs, which involve proactively identifying risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate disruptions, and ensuring the organization is resilient to internal and external threats.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop Business Continuity Management policies, procedures, and controls covering all areas of assigned Business Continuity Management activity and provide continuous improvement recommendations.
- Develop Business Continuity Management strategic and operational plans, ensuring alignment with WTCO’s strategy, vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
- Develop a Business Continuity Management budget and ensure potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
- Fulfill ESG responsibilities and requirements in line with the strategy and ESG-related initiatives.
- Set Business Continuity Management KPIs and monitor progress and development toward WTCO strategic objectives. Identify the management needs of competencies and talents and provide recommendations with regard to human resources decisions.
- Develop all Business Continuity Management reports in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring meeting the requirements, policies, and quality standards.
- Delegate duties, responsibilities, and authorities to appropriate team members within the business in case of absence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities 2
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of Business Continuity Management’s systems and practices taking into consideration leading practices, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the annual business plans, goals, policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards within WTCO and related functions such as but not limited to (HC, HSSE, Risk, Cybersecurity, etc..).
- Escalate problems to ensure case/issue is closed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential threats to the organization’s operations.
- Continuously monitor evolving internal and external risks, ensuring timely updates to the Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners.
- Promote awareness and understanding of Business Continuity and Crisis Management efforts across the organization.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the organization remains proactive and prepared for emerging risks.
- Identify and implement innovative approaches to enhance Business Continuity and Crisis Management practices.
- Establish and maintain a clear decision-making hierarchy and leadership structure for crisis situations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities 3
- Ensure timely and effective decision-making during emergencies, minimizing operational disruptions.
- Assess and enhance the resilience of third-party service providers and critical internal processes.
- Develop strategies to minimize vulnerabilities across all dependencies.
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to integrate risk mitigation strategies, robust data protection measures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure alignment between Business Continuity efforts and other organizational risk management activities.
- Ensure all Business Continuity and Crisis Management activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain transparent reporting practices and ensure readiness for audits or inspections.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to educate employees about their roles in Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
- Conduct awareness campaigns to embed a culture of preparedness within the organization.
- Implement strategies to mitigate the financial impact of disruptions.
- Ensure the organization remains financially stable during and after crises.
- Conduct thorough post-crisis reviews to evaluate the organization’s response and identify areas for improvement.
- Integrate lessons learned into future planning and risk mitigation efforts.
